February 1, 2010

 

Victoria Crime Stoppers needs your help to solve a 2004 murder. At about 4pm June 12, 2004, 15-year-old Joshua Gonzalez was murdered in the 300 block of S. Ben Wilson St.  He was riding in a car with some friends when an unknown subject fired a handgun at the vehicle from a white car in the next lane. 

Murder is always wrong, but the tragedy seems even greater when the victim is a child.  If you know anything about this crime it could be the information the police need to solve the case and help the victim’s family cope with their loss.

Victoria Crime Stoppers and the Victoria Police Department are seeking information about a 2003 murder.  In the early morning hours of October 24, 2003 14-year-old Robert Licerio Jr. was murdered in his home in the 3100 block of Sam Houston Dr. 

The police investigation shows that he had been shot several times through a window of the residence by one or more offenders.  Witnesses at the scene reported seeing a small dark-colored car occupied by several subjects speeding away from the location.

Murder is always wrong, but the tragedy seems even greater when the victim is a child.  If you know anything about this crime it could be the information the police need to solve the case and help the victim’s family cope with their loss.

Crime Stoppers and the Victoria Police Department are seeking information that will help solve a cold case, the murder of 37 year old Rudy Conde.  Once before we brought you the story of this murder, that still is not solved. Police investigation indicates that during the early morning hours of April 30th, 2007 Conde was killed in the house where he was staying on the 1600 block of East Commercial.  At approximately 8 a.m. that morning he was found deceased in his bed and it was later determined that he had been killed by being struck with a blunt object.

Victoria Crime Stoppers and the Victoria Police Department are seeking information about a cold case that caused the death of a Victoria man.  In the early morning hours of September 16, 2007, Victoria resident Oscar Villarreal was struck by an unidentified vehicle while walking along the side of Delmar Street in the dark.  Although Crime Stoppers has presented this case before, the person responsible for this tragic death has not been identified.   A friend who was walking with Oscar at the time could not describe the vehicle involved.

9/10/2007 - The Murder of Velma Cierra

     Crime Stoppers and the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office are asking for information that will help solve the murder of 41 year old Velma Cierra.

     On September 10th at approximately 4:15 a.m. law enforcement was dispatched to Pleasant Green Drive between Hand Road and Bottom Street.  Velma Cierra was found lying on the side of the road and it was later determined that she had been murdered during the early morning hours. 

     Anyone with information about this homicide is asked to call the 24 hour Victoria Crime Stoppers tip line at 572-4200.  All callers remain anonymous.
